Great Neck Collision has been located in the village of Great Neck, New York since 1993. Anthony Marchetti, owner of Great Neck Collision, has been repairing cars for over 50 years, starting at only 17 years old. His shop originated as part of Lamont Cadillac in 1927, according to Marchetti. Now, Great Neck Collision is I-CAR Gold Certified and is certified by Honda and Acura. The shop offers towing for customers and has had a DRP relationship with AllState for the past 20 years.
With recent changes in technology, Marchetti realized he should have upgraded his paint booth five years ago. Great Neck Collision was still operating with a finishing system from the 1960s that wasn’t even heated. With outdated equipment, jobs used an incredible amount of time, labor, and energy. As a smaller, family-owned shop, they needed a new paint booth that would save on these elements while remaining within their budget.
With the guidance from Accudraft, Great Neck Collision chose the Italia—a gold standard paint booth. Marchetti said, “It’s a high-quality booth and there’s just no comparison. We saw a huge improvement right away; it was like night and day.” The Italia allowed Great Neck to save at least two hours per job, cutting back on labor costs as well. The booth also recycles heat, making it both cost and energy efficient.
Employees of Great Neck Collision didn’t need much training, as the booth is easy to use. “You just hit a button for each function, but if you have a problem, support is just a phone call away. We started using Accudraft because their client service is so excellent,” said Marchetti.
Marchetti and the employees of Great Neck Collision are now completing more jobs per day because of the Accudraft Italia paint booth. The shop will continue to use Accudraft filters because, “the aftermarket filters don’t fit right and are only cents cheaper,” Marchetti says. Since installation, they’re able to better serve the Great Neck area and continue to be the dependable shop for all auto collision repairs.
