The Blue Ridge Color Company (BRCC) is a body shop supply store with locations up and down the east coast—10 stores across 7 states to be exact. Each store services about 120 miles around its location, making their customer pool quite large. While they don’t perform any actual body or collision work, their clientele is mostly made up of these types of shops or automotive hobbyists. Since they carry dozens of brands and hundreds of products, BRCC wanted to provide a better shopping experience to their customers by offering hands-on, in-person product training.
They have since opened multiple training centers to help their customers learn about the products they offer and test them out before purchasing. Their newest location opened in Roanoke, Virginia, which is when they reached out to Accudraft to help bring this center to life.
After discussing with the BRCC team, they went with a Titan booth with a raised pit and air actuated loading ramp, paired with a DS mixing room. All new Titan booths come standard with our FOCUS control panel and new Vetrino glass. However, they also opted for some non-standard options, including 3 doors (a 4-door front is standard), custom fold-out side entry doors, and observation windows on every wall (rather than only in the front). The Vetrino windows wrap all the way to the mixing room, not just the paint booth!
While the booth will be used for training purposes, it is fully functional and equipped with LED lighting and a full gantry IRT setup. They truly went all out in this training center, and have since opened it for public classes. As the Blue Ridge Color Company plans to continue expanding their training centers, Accudraft looks forward to supporting their growth as they acquire and open new locations.
More and more paint jobbers are opening training facilities for their customers to utilize their own assets rather than another manufacturer or tech school’s facility.
