Can I Paint in a Prep Station?
By definition, a prep station is made specifically for prep of a particulate matter and dust. However, a prep station can be used for painting, within certain regulations. For shops that must adhere to NESHAP 6H (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants), they can only use up to 1 gallon every 8 hours. Other shops don’t have a limit as to how much they can spray in a prep station. This is dictated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA.
