The Client Challenge
Most booths, when dealing in the aerospace or defense industry, require custom applications. Due to the complex design and size of parts and application of intricate paint or coating, there is never a one size fits all for these types of applications. Everything in the industry is needed for a specific application and needs to be modified for such. Due to the nature of a lot of the coatings that Aerobotix sprays, the environmental conditions of the spray must be TIGHTLY controlled.
Temperature and humidity are the big two that must be maintained no matter what the conditions are outside of the booth. This requires AMU equipment that is sized to handle the extremes of weather conditions for a given location. Booth air flow is also often controlled tightly and is adjustable because there are different air flow requirements for robotic operations and manual operations and a lot of the time the booths in the defense industry are used for both.
How Accudraft Helped
Accudraft delivered a Space Saver and customized TX spray booth design to spray and cure objects, capable of housing their machinery, applying specialty coatings and handling more of their bigger projects. Aerobotix with their in-house, live testing, allows them to show why booths are required for year-round production and they needed a booth, built to ensure a 24/7/365 workflow. Aerobotix’ setup allows them to manipulate airflow, temperature and other factors involving seasonal changes in weather and temperature, which in their situation, greatly influence their robotic systems and product results.
The Results
Aerobotix is able to utilize their booths to create high-quality, successful products year-round for their customers in the commercial aerospace and defense sector.
