Automotive Paint Booths

Accudraft is one of the industry’s leaders in automotive paint booth manufacturing. Body shops and collision centers across the country rely on our paint booths to give every automobile a showroom-quality paint job.

Here are the types of automotive paint booths that we offer:

Crossdraft Paint Booths

Also known as a “crossflow” or “reverse flow” configuration, crossdraft paint booths work by bringing the airflow directly across the object being painted. Incoming air is either pulled through the main doors or drawn into filtered columns attached to the front of corners of the booth.

Many body shops prefer crossdraft paint booths because they take the least amount of material to construct and they don’t require any additional concrete work. Because of this, crossdraft booths are typically more affordable than other types of paint booths. As a general rule, crossdraft paint booths are easier to maintain and operate within the confines of paint booth regulations because of their simplistic design.

We offer the following crossdraft paint booths:

Semi Downdraft Paint Booths

The semi downdraft paint booth mixes principles of downdraft and crossdraft paint booths. Incoming air is pulled diagonally across the object painted. The air comes from the ceiling in the front of the booth and is extracted through the exhaust system located at the bottom, rear part of the booth.

Semi downdraft booths are popular because they help protect the object and operator from overspray contamination. They’re also popular because they can be easily fitted with heated air makeup units without any major construction changes. Semi downdraft paint booths are especially popular with companies that specialize in collision repair because they’re easy to install and can be optimized to increase production rates.

We offer the following semi downdraft paint booths:

Sidedraft Paint Booths

In a sidedraft paint booth, air is brought in through the ceiling and is pulled down each side of the painted object and into the exhaust on each sidewall inside the booth. This type of configuration creates an even airflow around the object that is designed to pull overspray away from the vehicle. This helps keep the workspace clean and reduces the chances of contaminating the coat of paint. Overall, sidedraft paint booths are great for creating a consistently great finished product, but they tend to be more expensive than other types of paint booth configurations.

We offer the following sidedraft paint booth:

Downdraft Paint Booths

Our downdraft paint booths work by creating a draft patter that runs down from the ceiling into the exhaust system located in the floor of the booth. Downdraft booths are able to provide better quality and more efficient production times than other paint booth configurations. This is because downdraft booths work better at preventing overspray and paint contamination from affecting the painted object.

While downdraft paint booths provide better quality than other paint booth configurations, many businesses have avoided installing them because they’re usually more expensive than other types of paint booths. This is because the exhaust system of downdraft paint booths is at the bottom of the booth. Historically, businesses needed to spend a lot of money on extensive concrete work to create airflow pits under the booth.

The good news is that downdraft technology has come a long way in a short period of time. We now offer pitless downdraft paint booths that sit atop an elevated platform. This lets clients get the same excellent quality from their downdraft paint booth without spending excessive money on concrete work.

We offer the following downdraft paint booths:
