One of the challenges of the paint booth business is finding tailored solutions to meet the needs of all customers, big and small. In this case study, we take a look at how Accudraft was able to meet the needs of Stadium Auto Body, a family-owned auto body shop in Arkansas.

Case Study: Stadium Auto BodyA Premier Auto Body Shop Gets Even Better

Stadium Auto Body is the premier auto body shop in Jonesboro and Paragould, Arkansas. With over 26,000 square feet, owners Kevin and Teresa Meredith take pride knowing their facility is big enough to handle the most severe of collisions, but small enough to take care of minor mishaps and give the personal service today’s customers deserve.

The Challenges

When it came time to expand and upgrade the Stadium Auto Body paint facility, which operates separately from the body repair facility, Kevin and Teresa turned to the team at Accudraft Paint Booths to ensure their new system would meet the following goals:

  • A heated, drive-through paint booth that would deliver airflow & heat specifications recommended by waterborne paint manufacturers
  • An energy efficient booth that will offer substantial energy savings
  • A booth with the ability to switch between water-based and solvent-based modes to minimize the need for new equipment in the future
  • A prep station that would allow for multiple vehicles and a cleaner, more organized work environment
  • An expandable prep station that will allow for seamless expansion in the future

“In an industry where the quality of your work is tied directly to the people and technology you possess, our search for new paint booth and prep station equipment was very important to us as a company,” said Kevin Meredith. “Our reputation and ability to provide unparalleled service to our community rests on our ability to source only the finest, highest-quality equipment, and we found that with Accudraft.”

How Accudraft Helped

After meeting with Kevin and Teresa Meredith and viewing the Stadium Auto Body facility, Accudraft team members were able to suggest equipment that would not only meet, but also exceed, the Meredith’s expectations.

Part of Accudraft’s Performance Series, the Accudraft TITAN was selected. As a high-powered downdraft paint booth specifically designed for any current or future waterborne facility, it would be able to grow with the company. Using a 15 H.P. 1.5 Million BTU direct fire heating system with 20,000 CFM, the TITAN delivers airflow & heat specifications recommended by waterborne paint manufacturers something that was a concern for the Stadium team.

All Accudraft TITAN models come standard with the EnergySmart VFD package for the ultimate in electrical energy savings, which also appealed to Kevin and Teresa. And the TITAN uses dual mode technology allowing the system to switch between water-based or solvent-based modes on the fly, allowing Stadium Auto Body to paint today while being ready for tomorrow.

In conjunction, the Magnum 5000 – a double bay, free standing automotive prep station made for maximum production and work space versatility – was added. Standard with exhaust in every bay, the Magnum is ready to work as a prep, sanding and repair station and with the addition of an intake fan, it can accommodate priming and limited finishing right in the same place eliminating the need to move the vehicle or part to a paint booth to have it primed or painted.

The Magnum 5000 is expandable to an unlimited amount of work bays, which was a concern of the Stadium team, and is designed to reduce cycle time by allowing more phases of work to happen all in one space.

“Pairing the TITAN and the Magnum5000 offered the perfect solution to Stadium’s paint booth needs now and in the future,” says Guido Pippa, VP at Accudraft. “We pride ourselves on being able to find custom-tailored solutions for our clients, and working with Kevin and Teresa challenged us to find solutions that would provide long lasting results for both their company and their team.”

The Results

Stadium Auto Body has seen a great response to their new technologies, from both team members and customers. Team members are enjoying a cleaner, more organized work environment and have all the latest tools to execute unparalleled paint jobs, and customers benefit.

“We could not be more pleased with our decision to partner with Accudraft Paint Booths to outfit our shop,” says Kevin Meredith. “From the initial consultation to installation and beyond, the Accudraft team understood our goals and had the technologies to execute on those goals, and more!”
