Paint Booth

A quality paint booth can come in three different types-open front, cross-draft and down-draft.

Open front booths-These paint booths are semi-enclosed by three walls and are built for applications where users are seeking to contain any paint overspray but are not necessarily concerned with preventing contaminating particles from adhering to the paint surfaces. These quality paint booths are generally the least costly due to their less complex filtration systems, which pull air from the surrounding room via the front and send exhaust to the back of the booth.

Cross-draft booths-These varieties are completely enclosed booths and are primarily designed to be a cost-effective system. This kind of quality paint booth relies on an intake vent to bring in air that has removed as many contaminants as possible. The air comes in horizontally and is pulled through the booth to the other side where it is expelled. Although these cost more than the open front booths, they are considered a moderately priced option when compared to other fully enclosed models.

Down-draft booths-This most complete paint booth system relies on ventilation systems that pull air downward in a variety of ways. These are your best option for handling overspray from a recently painted object and are best suited for applications that must have a mirror-smooth finish, such as automobile. Air is moved down along the booth and out the back, or down the sides at floor level.
